Magnolia F. Byrd

SMITHFIELD—Magnolia Fulgham Byrd, died June 23, 2008.
She was born in Nansemond County on Sept. 20, 1927, to the late Gilbert and Vashti Fulgham.
She was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church and was a faithful usher. She retired from Smithfield Packing Co.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother; stepmother; sisters, Gladys Ford and Elsie Mae Fulgham; brother, John Fulgham; stepsister, Lois Holmes; and stepbrother, Willie James Kee.
Survivors include her children, Edwin Byrd (Peggy) of Chesapeake, Wilbert Byrd of Colorado Springs, Addie Byrd of Smithfield, Burley Byrd of Silver Spring, Md., and Janice Johnson (LJ) of Dendron; sister, Josie Davis; brother, George Fulgham, both of Smithfield; stepsister, Lila Batten (Horace), Lillian Robertson and Ada Austin; stepbrothers, Lee Kee and Sammuel Kee; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.
A funeral was to be held at noon Saturday at Christian Home Baptist Church. Interment was to follow in the church cemetery.
Viewing was to be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Pretlow & Chapman
