James C. Rainey Jr.
FORT WASHINGTON, Md.—James Clifton “Jim” Rainey Jr., 65, died Aug. 31, 2008, surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Rainey was predeceased by his parents, James C. Rainey Sr. and Dorothy S. Rainey; and his stepmother Otelia J. Rainey of Franklin.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Debra V. Watson-Rainey; daughters, Lisa Bush (Curtis) of Germantown, Md., Katrina Rainey and Dominique Rainey; son, Antonio “Tony” Watson of Towson, Md.; his brothers, Vernon Rainey (Patricia) of Suffolk and Larry Rainey of New Orleans, La.; his sisters, Nancy S. Boone of Ridegfield, Wash., Camanche Pope of Chesapeake, Della Stokes (José) of Chesapeake, Wanda Watkins-Pitt (Charles), Yvonne Jackson (Roger), Renee “Whendie” Washington and Michele Childs (Calvin); one granddaughter, Brie Lynn Bush; one uncle, Everett Raney (Ione) of Silver Spring, Md.; mothers-in-law, Alberta Watkins and Irene Weems-Watkins; along with a multitude of family and friends.
The family extends gratitude to the many doctors and staff for the wonderful care he received through the years and to family and friends for love and support throughout his battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at Green Funeral Home Inc. 814 Franklin St, Alexandria, at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The family will receive friends at 6700 Bock Road, Fort Washington, MD 20748 immediately following the Victory Celebration.
In lieu of flowers he requested donations to Dominique’s scholarship trust.
