Willie M. Urquhart
FRANKLIN—Willie Mae Warren Urquhart, 91, of the 300 block of Roosevelt Street, died Sept. 23, 2008, in East Pavilion Nursing Home.
Mrs. Urquhart was a native of Boykins.
She was the daughter of the late Sam Billie Warren and Bettie Ferguson Warren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnell M. Urquhart.
She retired from Planters Peanut Co. after 20 years of service.
She was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church where she served in many capacities including trustee, deaconess, senior choir member, Sunday school, missionary and pastor’s aide.
She was a member of the Raiford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Zion Travelers, Cub Scout leader and Martin Luther King Choir.
She was also predeceased by a son and daughter-in-law, Donnell Jr. and wife Catherine; and sister, Lillie Warren Cousins.
Survivors include her son, Joe Sam Urquhart (Conchita) of Killeen, Texas; daughters, Mae U. Cross (Floyd) of Franklin and Patricia U. Conley (Charles) of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at noon Saturday at New Mount Zion Baptist Church with Bishop Stéfan Adams officiating.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
