FRANKLIN—City police officers blocked off a portion of South High Street Friday morning as investigators went through a house that was the scene of a burglary and a homicide.
According to Lt. Tim Whitt, police received a call at 7:16 a.m. of a burglary in progress at 509 South High Street, and were on the scene minutes later. Whitt said that upon entering the home, officers discovered a deceased man in his mid-20s. No one else was in the house. The deceased man is one of two people who live at the residence, Whitt said.
Police do not have anyone in custody at this time. Whitt said the investigation into the homicide was in its preliminary stages. Franklin police were receiving assistance from the forensics unit of the Suffolk police.
