Hometown shopping pays off

Dear Editor:
I had been looking for a replacement part for a window mullion/divider for my daughter. I had looked and asked at all the hardware stores in Franklin, and the last place to look was at Basnight’s in Hunterdale. I called and the person who answered the phone was so helpful and said that she thought she had what I was looking for.
However, when I got there it was the wrong size. She said the Ahoskie location might have the part, and she would let me know if they did. After a couple of weeks and no word, I felt sure that they did not have the part and my daughter and I looked at several stores in Richmond with no luck.
On Friday, I got a call from the woman at Basnight who thought she had located my daughter’s window parts. I went to check and they had the correct parts. So much work, so much follow-up, so much kindness and the final cost? No charge.
What a great place to live and shop. We need to support our local folks; they are our friends and neighbors and they support us.
