A rare opportunity is coming up next week.

If you have any questions for the U.S. Navy about the proposed Outlying Landing Field, you’ll have a chance to ask them on Tuesday.

Representatives from the Navy will be coming to Bethlehem Baptist Church near Jarratt at 7 p.m. to meet the public, make a presentation about the OLF, and answer any questions.

The Navy says Tuesday’s meeting is just one of several they have had near the five OLF sites, and plan to have more. Opponents of the OLF say that’s not true, that the Navy rarely, if ever, meets with the public to discuss the issue.

Regardless of which side is making the more truthful statement about these meetings, one thing is clear: Tuesday will be the day to come and ask questions of the Navy if you have them.

It may be some time if you get another opportunity, if ever.
