FRANKLIN – Terry Godwin has removed himself from consideration for appointment to the city School Board representing Ward 2.
Godwin, a forestry consultant, was nominated for the post at a June City Council meeting.
“I will need to remove myself from consideration from the school board,” Godwin said in an e-mail to The Tidewater News on Thursday.
His departure leaves two candidates vying for the seat: incumbent Robert Meredith and former Franklin High School secretary Tawanna Bernard.
The City Council is expected to make school board appointments during its July 13 meeting.
