To the Editor:

Another year has come and gone for the Franklin/Southampton County Fair. Overall we were pleased with all of the new additions to the grounds and all our exhibits.

Unfortunately, the weather played a major factor in our attendance. But, I would personally like to thank all the fairgoers for enduring the rain showers that plagued the fair this year.

The main reason for writing this letter is to thank the Board of Directors, the committee chairpersons and the many volunteers who spent many countless hours over the last 12 months preparing for this event.

Without their support the Franklin/ Southampton County area would not have such a wonderful four days of fun-filled activities, good food and great entertainment.

Lastly, but certainly the most important, is our many sponsors, who without their generous contributions we would not be successful. Whether their help is monetary or through providing us with labor or equipment I want to personally thank each and every one of them for their support.

In conclusion I would like to welcome anyone who would like to volunteer, whether on the board or chairperson of an event. New people bring fresh ideas to make our fair the best. Thanks to everyone for the 2009 Franklin/Southampton County Fair.
