One arrested in Franklin drug raid

FRANKLIN—Following a drug investigation, the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of Franklin Police, executed a search warrant and arrested a 22-year-old man last week.
Sheriff’s deputies served the search warrant at 905 Rebecca St. in Franklin last Friday at approximately 12:15 p.m.
According to Detective Cpl. Richard Morris of the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office, the warrant was executed without incident.
Wei Cheih Yang was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of controlled substances.
Among the items recovered from the home were electronic scales, a metal smoking pipe and 9 mm bullets.
Morris said that critical response teams from both Southampton and Franklin participated in the execution of the search warrant.
