FRANKLIN—Franklin police are investigating a violent home invasion that left a 34-year-old man injured.
At approximately 7 p.m. Thursday, a woman was at her home with her boyfriend in the 200 block of Artis Street when she heard a knock at the door. Hearing voices she thought she recognized, the woman opened the door and two suspects wearing ski masks carrying guns pushed their way into the home, according to Franklin police Lt. Tim Whitt.
While inside the home, the suspects assaulted the male occupant, causing a laceration to his head, and stole personal items and an undetermined amount of cash. The victims believe the suspects then fled in a car.
A nurse at Southampton Memorial Hospital notified Franklin police of the assault after the victims showed up at the emergency room. The male victim was treated and released from the hospital. The female victim was not harmed.
The two suspects are described as males with medium brown skin complexions wearing ski masks.
The victims were unable to give a description of the vehicle the suspects fled in.
