MURFREESBORO, N.C.—Both the men and women’s Chowan University basketball teams emerged victorious from a doubleheader against Lincoln University Monday night.

Chowan’s Lando Morrison scored 21 points as the Hawks battled out an 80-71 win in men’s basketball action.

Five Chowan players claimed double-figure scoring nights with Morrison getting a team-high 21 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.

In the women’s game, five Lady Hawks scored in double figures as they rolled to an 81-57 victory over Lincoln. Monday’s win marks the first for the women’s basketball team this season.

Chowan’s defense combined for 16 total steals while the team total of 81 points was their highest of the season. Ransheeda Jennings scored a game-high 17 points in win.

The women will play Belmont Abbey College on the road at 2 p.m. Saturday

Another doubleheader is scheduled against Virginia Union University at 5:30 p.m. for the women and 7:30 p.m. for the men on Monday.
