Winter quilt

White blanket
Laid upon the earth
One stitch at a time
Seems to speak softly
Feels like confection sugar
Embracing its virginity
Before the human print
Lying undisturbed
Seemingly content
A thousand tiny mirrors
Shimmering little stars
Embedded jewels
Miniature suns
Effervescent world
Shadows,
Long close friends
Though biding incognito
Now present themselves
Unashamed, unabashed, unafraid,
Distinguished in their dress.
It sends out invitations
To those who hear its call
Come and make your signature!
Your peculiar track
Lay your cheek upon my face
And dance upon my back!
The day ends,
The sun bids farewell
Workers return to work
Scholars return to class
Life returns to predictablility
Memories melt into soil
Ah, but it was a glorious day
It sends out invitations
To those who hear its call
Come and make a signature!-
Your peculiar track
Lay your cheek upon my face
And dance upon my back!
