CHINCOTEAGUE—Tidewater Academy was the first to score in Friday’s game against Chincoteague, but could not hold onto the momentum for a win.

Tidewater extended its 30-plus game losing streak by one more, dropping to Chincoteague 49-30.

“I think we were kind of flat,” said Tidewater Head Coach David Rodgers. “We scored, and then that was it. I don’t think we scored again until the third or fourth quarter.”

Senior Ferley Yerby threw a 35-yard pass to junior Lamont Moore five minutes into the first half for the first score of the game. Rodgers did not have other scoring details available.

Tidewater is 0-3 overall and in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference. Tidewater hosts Fredericksburg Christian at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17.
