To the Editor:

I am writing in regards to the recent article (“Obituary,” Sept. 29) about the hit-and-run squirrel.

Was this meant to be funny? I thought it was very sad and in poor taste.

And, yes, I am one of those crazy animal lovers, so what? Seriously? Is this the only news you can find in Franklin? What about the mom who has lost her child to drugs? What about the people that have lost jobs and cannot feed their family?

Where’s their story? Where’s their picture? So, yes, a picture of a dead squirrel and making a joke of it was just wrong on so many levels.
