McClenny deserves better, says retired chief

To the Editor:
I was police chief for 10 years and retired in 1990 after 30 years with the Franklin Police Department. I hired Ronnie McClenny and have never regretted my decision.
Ronnie was a good police officer and a loyal employee of the city of Franklin. It is time for the city manager and the members of the City Council to intervene and do the right thing. Chief Phil Hardison should not be allowed to deny Ronnie what is rightfully his.
An effective police chief will put aside his personal feelings and make the unbiased decisions necessary for the good of his fellow officers and the city he serves.
