IWA boys lose 65-57 to Hampton Christian

ISLE OF WIGHT—Jordan Wright had 19 points as Hampton Christian topped Isle of Wight Academy, 65-57, Tuesday night.
Hampton Christian also got 14 points each from Raymund Bell and Brandon McLain.
IWA was led by senior guard Brandon Privette with 29 points in his last home game as a Charger.
IWA took the first quarter 17-10, but the Warriors climbed back into the contest before halftime. Josh Jones’ field goal with 3:46 left before halftime put Hampton Christian ahead for good.
IWA’s last serious charge came in the fourth quarter. Privette was fouled beyond the 3-point line and converted all three foul shots to make it 54-45 with 5:11 to go.
But Hampton Christian made 12-of-18 from the line in the fourth quarter to preserve the win.
IWA falls to 18-7 overall and 10-5 in the Metro Conference. Hampton Christian improves to 11-12, 6-9.
The Charges wrap up the regular season Friday night at Portsmouth Christian.
