Betsy St. Clair Edwards and Robert Bradley Riggs, both of Richmond, were married at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, in Cannon Memorial Chapel at the University of Richmond.
The Rev. Craig Kocher officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Curtis Edwards of Aylett. She is the granddaughter of Pauline Clements Hargrove of Manquin and the late Mr. James Ellis Hargrove, and Lona Lee Edwards of Franklin and the late Norman Horace Edwards.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wesley Oyler of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Douglas Riggs of Martinsville. He is the grandson of Callie Washington Eanes of Martinsville and the late Melvin Eanes, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Melvin Riggs.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Her matron of honor was her sister, Blakley Olson of Richmond.
Lacey Eggert of Orlando, Fla.; Payton Woodard of Charlotte, N.C.; Cameron Sgroi and Susan Cowart, both of Richmond; Christy Harnsberger of Advance, N.C.; and Alexis Grason of Arlington were bridesmaids.
Kyleigh Harnsberger of Advance was the flower girl.
The best man was Clifton Jones of Martinsville, childhood and best friend of the groom.
Michael Olson of Richmond, Macon Edwards of Aylett, Justin Vanlandingham of Goochland, Matthew Harnsberger of Advance and David Becker of Morgantown, W. Va., were groomsmen.
The ring bearers were Charles Olson of Richmond and Bryce Harnsberger of Advance.
The readers were Anne Aycock of Gloucester and Gibson Hill of Richmond. Jessica Smith of Richmond was mistress of ceremonies.
The rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held at SunTrust. The reception hosted by the bride’s parents was held at Main Street Station.
The new Mrs. Riggs is a graduate of St. Catherine’s School and High Point University. She is employed by Atlantic Coast Athletic Clubs.
Her husband is a graduate of Martinsville High School and Longwood University and is employed by Verizon.
After honeymooning in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Richmond.
