WINDSOR— Windsor’s soccer team has earned a spot at the regional tournament.

The first game will be away against King William on Tuesday, May 31.

In the Tri-River District Tournament, Windsor defeated Surry this week in the semifinals.

“The first half was a great game, and Surry was looking like they wanted it more than us,” said Windsor Coach Matt Burgess. “It felt like they were on offense most of the half.”

The Dukes came out strong in the second half and got an early goal off a diving header by Mack Turner, assisted by Raquel Doherty.

After that, the Surry defense started to crack and Windsor’s Evan Binkley picked up a goal and Ryan Brant scored twice.

“We were glad to have Ryan back,” Burgess said. “He’s been out sick the past month.”

Keeper Blake Allen had 15 save shots.
