SUFFOLK—George Holland Saunders, 53, of 8709 South Quay Road, Suffolk, Va., died Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

He was a native of Suffolk, Va., and the son of the late George Aldrich Saunders and Nellie H. Saunders Cabarrus.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Saunders and Ellen Saunders Daniel.

He was a graduate of Forest Glen High School and attended Paul D. Camp Community College and P.D. Pruden Technical School.

He was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

He was the first president of the local Suffolk Tiger Riders Motorcycle Club.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters, Carrie S. Wiggins (Willie), Audrey S. Coppedge (George) and Katheryn S. Starks (Robert); and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church officiated by Rev. William L. Lang. The body will be placed in the church at 9 a.m.

Interment will be in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.
