I have been a resident of Isle of Wight County all my life and I have known Charlie Phelps since he has been sheriff.

I personally know him to be an honest, caring person who has dedicated himself to his job. He does a lot for people and never looks for credit, so I know that he does it from his heart. He is a retired lay pastor and teaches in adult Sunday school classes in various churches upon request.

He has done a good job as sheriff and I see no reason why his job should be taken from him. We don’t need a change. If Charlie wants to finish out his career as sheriff, he deserves it because he has served us well all of these years.
