Shirley A. Flythe

VIRGINIA BEACH—Shirley A. Flythe of Malibu Palms Drive, Virginia Beach, Va., passed October 31, 2011, while a patient in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The Southampton County, Virginia, native was born April 16, 1946.
During her youth, she joined Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
Shirley decided to move North, and in 1993, she became a member of New York City Church of Christ.
Most recently, Shirley relocated to Virginia and joined Hampton Roads Church of Christ in Virginia Beach, Va.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alee Flythe Mayfield.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Alecia D. Ross (Timothy) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Yvette L. Hoyes (Jamil) of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; one brother, Clarence Peoples (Julia) of Franklin, Va.; two grandchildren, Trinity and Layla; and nephews, cousins and many other relatives.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Move of God Church, 221 S. Main St., Franklin, Va., where Apostle Tyrone Hart is pastor and Deacon Ricky Shilou will deliver the message of comfort.
The interment will be held in Mount Tabor Church Cemetery, Newsoms, Va.
A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin, Va.
