IVOR—A 16-year-old Ivor-area boy was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after he was injured in an ATV crash at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Southampton County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The boy, who Capt. Gene Drewery would not identify because he is a minor, was driving the ATV. Drewery did not have additional details on the crash, other than to say it was “driver error.”

The investigating deputy as of Monday had not filed an accident report to provide those details.

“He should in a day or two,” Drewery said.

Without a name, The Tidewater News could not check on the teen’s condition at the hospital. Drewery said he had not heard anything about the boy’s condition.

An unidentified adult also riding the ATV was treated at the crash site, which was in the 32000 block of Lightwood Drive off Ivor Road, Drewery said.
