To the Editor:
The Trooper Hill Toy Drive would like to thank all who contributed in 2011 for your continued support in collecting holiday toys for children in need in the Franklin-Southampton County area. The Trooper Hill Toy Drive has been such a blessing to many local children. Approximately 600-plus children were given toys and clothing thanks to generous donations and our volunteer efforts.
Thank you for helping us carry on this yearly tradition in memory of Trooper Robert Hill Sr.. This is a great way for our community to work together to truly experience the holiday spirit.
A special thank you goes to the following 2011 sponsors: Salvation Army, Cops for Kids (City of Franklin Police Department), Franklin Sportsman Association, Southampton High School, Robert A. Hill, Sr. Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 56, and the James L. Camp Jr. YMCA of Franklin.
We would also like to recognize our drop-off locations and all who contributed and made donations to the following locations: Meherrin Elementary, Riverdale Elementary, Curves for Women, BB&T-Newsoms, Bank of Southside Virginia-Boykins, 7-11-Courtland, Food Lion-Courtland, and Fresh Start School-Hunterdale.
We are so thankful for all the families, churches and local businesses that made donations to the Trooper Hill Toy Drive in 2011. You are a key ingredient in making it so successful. We could not make this happen without all of you and your continued Support. We look forward to 2012.
