ISLE OF WIGHT—The Isle of Wight Academy boys’ basketball team improved its record to 18-6 overall with a 69-31 drubbing of Alliance Christian on senior night Tuesday.

Senior Ben Epps and junior Nathan Silvertson led with 10 points each. Silvertson also grabbed nine rebounds. Josh Thomas scored eight points.

The seniors won regular season championships as seventh- and eighth-graders, Metro Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships as sophomore and juniors, were state tournament runners-up in 2010 and qualified for the state tournament last year.

The group has won 70 percent of its games since seventh grade and has won 20 or more games three straight years, with a chance at a fourth this year with wins in the regular season finale and the conference tournament.

IWA travels to Hampton Christian at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17.
