HAMPTON—The Isle of Wight Academy boys’ basketball team finished the year with a 19-6 record after a 63-60 win over Hampton Christian on Friday.

The Chargers finish 12-4 in the Metro Athletic Conference and will begin conference tournament play against Portsmouth Christian at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Alliance Christian in Portsmouth.

Nathan Silvertson scored 18 points in the win and Rainer Marfio added 17 . Ben Epps scored 11.

IWA held a 17-16 lead after the first quarter, but trailed 37-30 at halftime.

The Chargers scored 13 of the first 15 points in the second half to regain the lead. IWA led 47-43 heading into the fourth quarter.
