IWA girls finish regular season with win

HAMPTON—The Isle of Wight Academy girls finished the season with a 40-34 victory over Hampton Christian Friday.
The Lady Chargers will play Stonebridge at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Atlantic Shores Christian in Chesapeake for the first round of the Metro Athletic Conference Tournament.
“We split with Stonebridge in the regular season so we feel we have a good opportunity to advance,” said IWA Coach Chris Hooper. “The girls are peaking at a good time and playing some good basketball.”
The Lady Chargers finish the regular season at 12-12 and 4-7 in conference play.
Ally Van Campen led the team with 14 points and seven rebounds against Hampton Christian. Gabriella Hooper scored 12 points and Amanda Williams added six, grabbed five rebounds and had four assists.
