WILLIAMSBURG—The Isle of Wight Academy baseball team opened its season with a 7-1 win over host Walsingham Academy Monday.

The Chargers had eight hits.

IWA scored one run in the first and fourth innings and five runs in the seventh.

The Chargers hosted Norfolk Academy Tuesday, but results weren’t available as of press time.
