Barnes’ no-hitter leads SA to win

COURTLAND—Southampton Academy pitcher Wesley Barnes’ no-hitter helped the Raiders trounce First Baptist Christian 16-0 Friday.
The Raiders improved to 12-2 after the non-conference win.
Matt Nixon went 2-for-4 at bat with two RBIs and scored two runs. Tonee Hill also went 2-for-4 and had two RBIs.
Matt Rose went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and also scored two runs.
Sean Raulston and Jacob Holland each contributed a double to bring in two RBIs each.
SA scored eight runs in the first inning, one in the third inning and seven in the fourth inning.
The Raiders face Tidewater Academy at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in Wakefield.
