FRANKLIN—A Franklin man has been charged for allegedly keeping six American bulldog puppies in an 85-degree shed without food or water, said Franklin Police Lt. Tim Whitt.
Tyrece D. Scott, 25, of 579 Laurel St. faces six misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals after police responded to an alleged complaint for dogs whining and a foul odor coming from a shed behind his home.
“They (animal control) heard the puppies whining and could smell the odor from the shed,” Whitt said. “When they checked, they found the six American bulldog puppies walking around their own feces with no food or water.”
The dogs were seized and taken to the pound in Franklin, where they will remain until Scott appears in court. He has a hearing on May 7 in Franklin General District Court.
