Jack Albert Kauss

FRANKLIN—Jack Albert Kauss, 81, passed away peacefully at his home June 11, 2012, with his family at his bedside.
Born in Wisconsin, he was a son of the late Albert Valdemar Kauss and Martha Isabelle Kauss.
Jack served his country in the U.S. Navy, the Army National Guard and in the Coast Guard Reserves and was retired from Union Camp after 41 years of service.
He was a 40-year member of the Franklin Kiwanis Club, a former Kiwanis District Lt. Governor, a longtime baseball coach of the Kiwanis Little League Baseball Team and a life member of the Capital District Kiwanis Foundation. He was a member of the Franklin Moose Lodge, VFW Post 4411, American Legion Post 73 and Franklin Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Nellie Darden Kauss; daughters, Betty Howe (Dan), Linda Thomas (Robert) and Gerri Pulley (Tony), all of Franklin; grandchildren, Michael Duck of Boca Raton, Fla., Tony Pulley Jr. (Casie) of Franklin, Stacey Drake (Joey) of Newsoms, Brandy Powers (Will) of Wilmington, N.C., and Kristy Thomas of Franklin; step-grandchildren, Nathan Howe (Rheanna) of Kernersville, N.C., and Nicholas Howe (Jenny) of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Amelia Pulley and Ella Kate Powers; step-great-grandchildren, Nicholas J. Howe, Ava Howe and Charlotte Howe; a brother, Floyd Kauss (Alyce) of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc.; sisters, June Kuehl (Melvin) of Eagle River, Wisc. and Diane Bloemers (Richard) of Brown Deer, Wisc.; and his caregiver, Evelyn Goodman.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Kimlick and the Rev. Sharon James officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
