Benjamin L. Pitts, Jr.

FRANKLIN—Benjamin Louis “Bud” Pitts Jr., 82, passed away August 5, 2012, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Yanceyville, N.C., a son of the late Benjamin Louis Pitts and Cornelia Merrit Woody Pitts.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice Mae Pitts; a brother, Milton Pitts; and an infant grandson, Mickey Pitts Jr.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired sawyer in the Saw Mill of Union Camp Corporation.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Debbie Wiggins and husband, Wayne, of Suffolk; three sons, Donnie Pitts and wife, Romona, of Franklin, Mickey Pitts and wife, Jennifer, of Courtland and Bobby Pitts and wife, Amy, of Courtland; a sister, Lilly P. Colmant of Live Oak Fla.; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Doodle Bug, Matthew, Katie, Scott, Wade and Trevor; and four great-grandchildren, Mckynsi, Luke, Gavin and Mason.
The funeral will be conducted at 11a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Wright Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the funeral home and suggests that memorials be made to your favorite charity.
The family would like to thank the staff of the East Pavilion for its great care and patience in taking care of Mr. Pitts.
