SA moves to 3-0 on the year

COURTLAND—The Southampton Academy volleyball team defeated Brunswick Academy 3-1 Tuesday.

SA’s scores were 25-16, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-16.

“I still feel we have a lot of work to do,” said Coach Frank Seal. “We still have a lot of bad habits that we’re reverting back to during games, but it’s getting better every week.”

Katelyn Newsome led the Lady Raiders with nine kills and nine aces, while Whitley Smith racked up 15 assists, seven aces and three kills.

Morgan Pope and Brooke Whitley had three kills each, while Kelsey Whitehead added 13 assists. Mason Pope hit three aces.

The Lady Raiders at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, will host Christchurch School.
