WINDSOR— Sussex Central’s Darian Curley rushed for five touchdowns and scored two more on pass interceptions to lead the Tigers to a 56-13 win over host Windsor on Friday.

Sussex Central improved to 7-0, while the Dukes fell to 2-5.

The Tigers rushed for about 416 yards while the Dukes were held to 55 yards.

The game turned quickly for the Dukes after taking the opening kickoff and moving the ball to the Tiger 38-yard line. On a running play, they coughed up a fumble that the Tigers recovered.

Curley scored his first touchdown on the Tigers first play from scrimmage on an 81-yard run.

The first quarter ended with the Tigers up 14-0.

The Dukes got on the scoreboard in the second quarter after recovering a Tiger fumble on the Tiger 25-yard line. Dukes quarterback Justice Chapman connected on a 25-yard touchdown pass to Josh Edwards. The kick by Tyler Fontenot was good, and the Dukes trailed 20-7.

With 3:12 remaining in the half, Curley ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown pass after the Dukes fumbled the ball on the Tiger kickoff. The Tigers took a 42-7 lead to the locker room for the half.

The Dukes added their final points in the third quarter on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Chapman to Caleb Dundlow. The Fontenot kick was blocked, and the Tigers went ahead 42-13.

The Tigers added 14 more points in the final quarter with a touchdown pass from quarterback Deqwandre Jones to Michael Jarrett and the final touchdown run from Curley for 55 yards.

The Dukes had 128 passing yards with Dundlow having 67 of those yards.
