Ola J. Watson

FRANKLIN—Ola Jones Watson, 85, widow of Guy Edward Watson and former owner of Watson’s Supermarket in Windsor, Va., passed away November 13, 2012.

She was born in Mesic, N.C., and was a daughter of the late Joshua Bryan and Naomi Ives Jones.

She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy W. Whitley and her husband, Harry, of Franklin; two sons, John David Watson and his wife, Denise, of Suffolk and Mitchell Edward Watson of Suffolk; seven grandchildren, Eddie Whitley, Justin Whitley, Jennifer Whitley, John David Watson Jr., Thomas Merrill Watson, Timothy Michael Watson and Rebecca Marie Carter; three step-grandchildren, Whitney Moore, Jason Salyers and Ernie Salyers; nine great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Sarah J. Sanders, and two brothers, Rudolph B. Jones and Winston I. Jones.

A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012, in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral and suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. www.wrightfuneralhome.
