NFL free agent running back Rock Cartwright joined Franklin football announcer Robby Cutchins in the press booth during the Broncos’ Oct. 27 game against Sussex.
Robby knows Rock through his friendship with former NFL player Greg Scott. Robby and Greg played football for Southampton High School before graduating in 1999.
The Washington Redskins drafted Greg and Rock in 2002.
Robby and Rock remain close, playing golf and traveling during the off-season.
Rock’s wife, Mersedeh, is from Virginia Beach and they were visiting for a few days when he joined Robby at the Franklin game.
“He had a blast and enjoyed the football game,” said Robby, general manager for Bobby’s Muffler and Tire Pros in Franklin.
Rock, 32, is from Conroe, Texas, near Houston and went to Kansas State University.
A 10-year NFL veteran, he played for the Redskins for eight years and Oakland Raiders for two years. He was a team captain for both franchises.
Rock holds the single-season kickoff return yards franchise record with the Redskins with 64 returns for 1,541 yards in 2006.
On a side note, this is Robby’s first year as the voice of the Broncos; the 32-year-old replaced Ken Raybuck who retired.
