Kristen Whitehead of Courtland is about to release an autobiography about how she — a once-rebellious teenager — found her way through God.

“It’s a lot about my life, the trials and tribulations,” said Kristen, the mother of Kalani, 9, and Julian, 5. “I was a rebellious teenager and wanted to do my own things, my own way. I had these dreams, but didn’t know how to pursue them.”

The 100-plus page book, “A Divine Appointment,” focuses on the 29-year-old hairstylist’s life, which started spiraling out of control as a pre-teen when she was charged with phone harassment.

Kristen lied and stole from her loved ones and by age 13, promiscuity took over.

• The Old Dominion Squadron from the Franklin Municipal Airport recently elected Col. Bob Collette as its adjutant, Col. Todd Fisher to oversee finances, Col. Michael Kuhnert for operations and Col. Allen Karst for maintenance.

The squadron 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, will host a pancake breakfast at their airport.

• Retired NFL defensive lineman Greg Scott and founder and chief executive officer for the Cover 3 Foundation donated $250 worth of food to the Emporia Renegades season-end banquet.

With football being one of Scott’s main passions, the 2002 Southampton High School graduate knew when asked to help with the banquet he would do everything in his power to make it happen.

“Coach Featherston contacted me about the Renegades’ function after hearing about Cover 3 Foundation from a parent whose child participates in one of our C3 Kids’ Meal Program,” Scott said. “I knew that I had a prior commitment for that day, but I let Coach Featherston know that I would make sure that his team was taken care of.”

The Renegades Minor team finished the season with a 7-3 record, which earned them a berth to the playoffs on Oct. 27. The Renegades lost to the Nottoway Gators.
