Rebecca Lynn Bryant and Jonathan Louis Martin were united in marriage during a 5 p.m. ceremony on June 16 at Conway Baptist Church in Conway, N.C.

The Revs. Willie McLawhorn and Suzanne Cobb performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Thomas Bryant of Conway and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger William Martin and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hinton Rayford “Ray” Bryant.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Alvin Martin of Conway. He is the grandson of Alton Louis Smith of Boykins and the late Ruby Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Martin of Conway.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

The bride wore an Allure designer gown of shimmering diamond white organza and soft satin. The bodice featured a one-shoulder strap of Swarovski crystals, seed pearls and sequins flowing to a drop waistline. The skirt was composed of flowing layers of organza.

An embellishment on the hip of the gown featured Swarovski crystals, seed pearls and sequins. Covered buttons and sequins adorned the back of the gown that flowed into a semi-cathedral train.

The bride’s bouquet included white calla lilies, green buttons, green carnations, and iris and peacock feathers wrapped with white ribbon. Intertwined in the bouquet were a brooch, necklace, ruby ring and wedding band belonging to the bride and groom’s grandmothers.

Jennafer Bailey Bryant of Murfreesboro, N.C., sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Hillary Drake Brock of Courtland, Jamie Elizabeth Cocke of Greenville, Holley Allen Harris of Conway and Amanda Catherine Revelle of Murfreesboro, all friends of the bride; and Dawn Martin Kusy of Wake Forest, sister of the bridegroom.

They carried handheld white calla lilies, green buttons, iris, larkspur and peacock flowers.

Serving as flower girls were Laura Grace Bryant and Mackenzie Lynn Bryant of Murfreesboro, nieces of the bride, and Madelynn Grace Kusy of Wake Forest, niece of the bridegroom. They carried a floral pomander made of purple daisies.

Ring princess was Kirsten Marie Kusy of Wake Forest, niece of the bridegroom.

The groom’s father was the best man.

Groomsmen were Patrick Thomas Bryant of Murfreesboro, brother of the bride; Noah Bryant Burgess of Conway, cousin of the groom; Jason Edward Brock of Courtland, and James Edward Smith of Greenville, both friends of the groom; and Kevin Kusy of Wake Forest, brother-in-law of the groom.

The Baptistery and church windows were decorated with arrangements of green buttons, white calla lilies, larkspur, purple statice and peacock feathers.

Organist Pam Woodard and soloists Lance Jenkins and Terri Revelle provided music.

Flower arrangements for the ceremony were in memory of the deceased grandparents and aunts and uncle of the bridal couple and were designed by Christie’s Flowers of Seaboard, N.C.

Rhonda Jenkins Brown of Conway, friend of the bridal couple, served as guest register attendant and Jessie Lynn Martin of Conway, cousin of the bride, served as program attendant.

Renee Felts of Franklin and Betsy Cutright of Ivor, both friends of the bridal couple, served as mistresses of ceremonies.

A reception was held at Valley Pine Country Club in Lasker, N.C., with Jay Jenkins of Woodland, N.C. as disc jockey.

Reception greeters were Lemuel and Shelby Ricks of Conway. Melanie Bracy of Icing on the Cake of Conway made the wedding tier and cupcakes.

The new Mrs. Martin is a 2007 graduate of Northeast Academy and a 2012 graduate of Roanoke Chowan Community College, where she received an associate degree in human services technology with a concentration in mental health.

Her husband is a 2003 graduate of Northampton County High School-East and a 2011 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering. He is employed at metal technologies of Murfreesboro as an engineer.

After a honeymoon to St. Lucia, Sandals Halcyon Resort, the couple lives in Conway.

Showers and parties

A lingerie shower was given by Jennafer Bryant on March 10 at her home in Murfreesboro.

A stock-the-pantry shower was given at Courtland Baptist Church on April 1 by Hillary Brock, Betsy Cutright and Renee Felts.

Friends of Bethany United Methodist Church hosted a miscellaneous bridal shower on April 29 at Bethany Civic Center.

A bridal luncheon was held May 5 at Southern Sisters Bakery-Eatery in Courtland. Hosts were Rebecca Martin and Patricia Bryant.

On May 6, a yard and garden party was held at the home of Steven and Lori Burgess and given by Adam and Wendy Burgess, Bryan and Calissa Carper, and RL and Sharlene Smith.

A bachelorette weekend was held the weekend of May 18, hosted by Dawn Kusy in Charlottesville.

A bachelor weekend was held at Lake Gaston Resort on May 19-20, hosted by Johnny Martin.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the fellowship hall of Conway Baptist Church, hosted by the groom’s parents on June 15.

A night before the wedding party was held June 15 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Martin, Conway.
