IWA boys improve to 7-1

ISLE OF WIGHT—Isle of Wight Academy defeated Veritas Christian 67-35 Monday in a non-conference game.
The Chargers improved to 7-1 overall.
Leaders for the winners were sophomore Casey Williams with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Hunter Triplett added 12 points and 7 steals, and senior Jackson Goodman added 8 points and 9 rebounds.
In action from Saturday, IWA defeated Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate 60-57 Saturday to sweep the Life and Breath Tournament at Wakefield School.
Tied with 35 seconds left in the game, senior Austin Rogers stole the ball and made a lay-up and was fouled with 2.5 seconds remaining.
Rogers led the Chargers with 20 points, Triplett had 17 points and Williams added 10.
In action from Friday, IWA defeated Wakefield School 61-48 in the tournament opener.
Senior Rainer Marfio and Triplett had 16 points apiece, and Williams added 15.
The Chargers will travel to Williamsburg Christian Academy at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
