Elva C. Stephenson

SEVERN, N.C.—Elva Connelly Stephenson, 80, widow of Wallace Watson Stephenson and a former resident of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., passed away Friday, December 14, 2012, at Courtland Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
Her three daughters were by her bedside.
Mrs. Stephenson was born in Hopewell, Va., a daughter of the late Charles Bernell and Myrtie Lowe Connelly, and was predeceased by her siblings, Bernell Tilman Connelly, Dorcas C. Simmons; twin sister, Melva C. Moyer, Charles B. Connelly Jr. and Kay Frances Connelly.
She was a member of the Severn Baptist Church and a retired legal secretary.
She never met a stranger, always had a smile, loved the beach, loved life, loved music and loved her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her three loving and dedicated daughters, Jeannette S. Everett and husband, M.L., of Capron, Va., Nancy S. Flythe and husband, Tommy, of Seaboard, N.C., and Tammy S. Rogers and husband, Doug, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Jewel C. Gammon of Texas and Rowena C. Lund of Georgia; one brother, George C. Connelly of Oregon; five grandchildren, M. Lewis Everett III, Thane W. Everett, Jamie F. Lassiter, April L. Flythe and Augustus S. Rogers; five great-grandchildren, Logan K. Everett, Asher C. Everett, Braelyn F. Everett, Sawyer L. Everett and Carter C. Lassiter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012, at the Severn NC Cemetery with Rev. Brent Hobbs officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Severn Baptist Church.
