FRANKLIN—Forecasters are calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow between early afternoon and midnight Friday, Jan. 25.
The chance of precipitation is 90 percent, said Mike Rusnak, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wakefield.
Given the below-freezing temperatures this week, Rusnak said there is a chance for snow to accumulate on the roads, particularly after dark.
“I know they were treating the roads (today),” he said.
The forecast calls for a high of 36 and low of 23 on Friday night.
Skies will be clear on Saturday with temperatures climbing to 39.
Freezing rain or ice is not expected, added NWS Meteorologist Jon McGee.
“If anything, there may be a little sleet,” McGee said. “It will be cold enough higher (in the atmosphere) to prevent it from changing to liquid.”
