Tidewater girls advance in conference play

WAKEFIELD—The Tidewater Academy girls’ basketball team will move on to the second round of the Virginia Commonwealth Conference Tournament after a 48-22 win over Kenston Forest Monday.
The Lady Warriors came into the tournament as the No. 2 seed with an 11-3 record in the VCC. Kenston Forest came in as the No. 7 seed with a 3-11 conference record.
Senior Cary Beahm led the Lady Warriors with 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. Sophomore Taylor Pruitt added 14 points and had 7 steals.
Amelia Academy is ranked No. 1 with a 14-0 conference record.
