Morgan Crosby Munford

SEDLEY—Morgan Crosby Munford, 75, passed away February 24, 2013.

He was born in Franklin, a son of the late Moody A. and Mary Doris McClenny Munford.

Morgan was a retired vice president for Shirley Construction Company and was a member of Sedley Baptist Church where he was a trustee, former deacon and Men’s Bible Class teacher.

He was a former 35-year member of the Sedley Volunteer Fire Department, a former member of the Sedley Ruritan Club and also a former Zone II Governor and an active member of Gideon International.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Halsey Munford; a daughter, Teresa Munford of Williamsburg; a son, Morgan Alex Munford and his wife, Elisabeth, of Purcellville; two grandchildren, Anna and Andrew Munford; three step-grandchildren, Christian, Nathan and Joshua Thompson; a brother, Moody E. Munford of Suffolk; two nephews, Al and Steve Munford; and three brothers-in-law, David, Bill and Jerry Halsey.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 28, at Sedley Baptist Church with the Rev. James Foreman officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, on Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and suggests that memorial donations be made to Sedley Baptist Church or Gideon International. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
