To the Editor:

I am writing this letter to let you know about two special groups of young people. Both of them have volunteered recently at the Southampton/Franklin Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Franklin.

On February 9th the Key Club from Southampton High School helped us. And on March 2nd the Boy Scouts of Troop 17 came in to help.

Both of these groups as well as their leaders did a wonderful job. They have the ReStore looking as good as it has in a long time. They swept the floors and cleaned windows and moved furniture. But what was even more impressive than their hard work was their willingness to help others and their overall attitude. They accomplished their tasks with smiles on their faces. And they were always ready to help customers and other volunteers.

It is quite refreshing to see teenagers “giving back to the community.” It was especially encouraging to have some of our customers tell us what a good job “those young people” are doing and how helpful they are. This occurred on both Saturdays. We are so proud to have these two groups as regular volunteers. Thank you.
