Indians baseball wins slugfest 16-6

COURTLAND—The Southampton High School baseball team remains undefeated with a 16-6 win over the Lakeland High School Cavaliers Monday.
The Indians improve to 7-0 on the season.
The Cavaliers started the offense early, as they took a 5-0 lead after the top half of the second inning.
The Indians quickly struck back in the bottom, when Jack Bunn led off with a homerun to left center. Shortly thereafter the Indians batted through the entire lineup and took a 6-5 lead.
Hayden Spalding came in to pick up the win as relief for starting pitcher Zach Vann. Spalding is 1-0 on the mound this season.
The Indians scored in every inning from the second to the sixth. Jake Pope and Josh Riddick had three hits apiece while Tanner Winters and Jack Bunn had two hits apiece. The Indians out hit the Cavaliers 15 to nine.
Lakeland also had two errors to the Indians zero.
