FRANKLIN—The Franklin Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning shooting at Dorchester Square Apartments.
According to Police Department spokesman Lt. Tim Whitt, officers responded to a call at approximately 2 a.m., May 19, of multiple gunshots fired at Dorchester Square.
Whitt says that upon arrival “no one was outside and the complex was quiet.”
While at the location, officers were approached by a resident of the “A” section, who informed them bullets had struck their apartment.
“Upon investigation, two bullets had penetrated the apartment and were recovered from the interior,” said Whitt. No one was injured and officers recovered several cartridge casings from the “L” section of Dorchester.
As officers continued their investigation, the department received a call from Southampton Memorial Hospital with information about two shooting victims being treated in the emergency room. According to Whitt, victims Rasheen S. Malone, 30, was being treated for two gunshot wounds to the buttocks and Christopher T. Woodley, 28, was being treated for a superficial gunshot wound to the right leg. Whitt explained that neither victim cooperated with police and an attempt to interview witnesses in the emergency room waiting area provided no information, as they too refused to cooperate.
