Franklin—Mrs. Blanche Eunice Doles Beale of Washington Avenue, Franklin, Va. departed this life on July 5, 2013, while a patient in East Pavilion Nursing Home. The Southampton County native was born Feb. 6, 1932, to Alvin Benjamin and Edna Davis Doles. On March 7, 1969, Blanche was joined in holy matrimony to George Nathan Beale.

Blanche was preceded in death by brothers, Russell, Benjamin Lloyd, Davis, Alvin, Monroe, Clarence, Robert; four sisters, Betty Louise Doles Beale, Leonthana Doles Butts, Mary Eliza Doles Beale, Eloise Doles and one step-son, George “Chic” Beale. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, George N. Beale; one daughter, Edna L Beale; one sister, Lucy I. Doles; step-daughter, Helen Williams; two devoted nieces, Edna Marie Doles Powell, Edna Elizabeth Butts Brown; four grandchildren, Kendrick Maurice Freeman, Curtis Marlon Beale, Steven D. Freeman and Chanta Mechelle Freeman; six great grandchildren and many other relatives.

A homegoing service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, Zion-Southampton A.M.E.Z. Church, 17121 Wakefield Road, Courtland, Va., with the pastor, the Rev. Christopher Eason delivering the eulogy. The committal and benediction is in the church cemetery. A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M.
