Franklin – Mavis Shaddox Branch, 90, widow of Lonnie Fenton Branch, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at the East Pavilion. Born in Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Margaret State Peelgren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joe Thomas Shaddox, a brother, M.L. Peelgren, and a sister, Eunice Peelgren. Mrs. Branch was retired from Massey Coal Terminal, Newport News, where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and the High Street Senior Circle.

Survivors include her daughter, Janelle Shaddox Long of Franklin; son, Kevin M. Shaddox, of Clark, MO; four grandchildren, Thomas and Marcus Shaddox, Kecia Long White (David) and Joe Thomas Long and one great grandchild, Isabella White.

The funeral will be held at 2 PM Monday, August 12 at Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts and Rev. Howard Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
