WINDSOR—Windsor Town Council continues to advertise and seek a new treasurer.
Town Manager Michael Stallings said Friday that council voted July 23 to let Robin Hewett go as treasurer and town clerk.
Hewett’s employment was terminated effective July 26, said Stallings, who added he wasn’t involved in the process.
“I can’t talk too much about it,” he added.
Meanwhile, the administration is using in-house staff, such as Terry Whitehead, for clerical duties.
“We’re making do with what we’ve got,” Stallings said.
Mayor Carita Richardson said she could not comment on the issue because, in her words, “it’s a personnel matter.”
The salary for a new treasurer/clerk has not been set.
Part of the advertisement states: “Requires a person with advanced bookkeeping and accounting skills with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred…Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.”
