To the Editor:
On behalf of the Southampton Historical Societies Museum of History, we would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the people who worked so diligently to make our opening Heritage Day exhibits come to fruition.
Dawn Holland and Bill Vick deserve special recognition for the long hours and expertise they brought to the entire project. Thanks also goes to Kitty and Milton Futrell, Joann Fox, Jimmy Holland, Robert Earl Pope, Jimmy O’Berry, Manuel Williams, Martha Kello, Glen Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hancock, Joe Vick, Richard Livesay, Collin Pulley, Jim Beale, Wayne Edwards, Pat Hartman and Charlie Edge. Pattie Forbes and Beth Fox shared their artistic talents. Others not named were so gracious to loan or give memorabilia to create these exhibits.
We were so pleased with the efforts of Wayne Cosby, Tony and Dickie Surace, Larry Rose, Littleton Parker, Ann Pittman, Charlie Williams, Peggy Simmons, Bill Wright and Frank Rabil for making our Championship Football room such a success.
This is our first major step in getting our long awaited history museum up and running. Any donations and local artifacts will be gratefully accepted.
