20th annual Heritage Day a huge success

To the Editor:

Many thanks to each of you who helped make the 20th annual Heritage Day at Southampton Heritage Village/Agriculture & Forestry Museum a wonderful success. The weather was perfect as was the crowd. More than 2,100 people (a record) came to learn about our heritage, socialize with friends, eat good food, listen to music and have a great time.

Over 130 Ag Museum members and friends worked hard to make this happen.

You may not know it, but this event is run entirely by volunteers. Thank you to the visitors, volunteers, vendors, musicians, Boy & Girl Scouts, crafters, those who brought antique cars, tractors and engines; heritage craft demonstrators, reinactors, Courtland law enforcement, Parker Battery for golf carts, advertisers, newspaper, radio stations and everyone else who lent a hand. Mark your calendar for next year – second Saturday in September. Thanks again – and y’all come!
